As a Sail Canada instructor, captain Darren from Sidney Sailing will guide you through an Introduction to Sailing. Take in the breathtaking scenery of the Salish Sea on an afternoon voyage aboard the C&C 40 ft sail boat ‘Desiderata’. Travel South upwind between Sidney and James Island, learning tack and teamwork skills. As you turn downwind, relax and take a break to enjoy a delicious west coast charcuterie platter and some beverages with the wind at your back. Expect to see some of the abundant marine wildlife including seals, herons, otters, porpoises and maybe even a pod of Orca Whales. On this cruise you will have the opportunity to hoist sails and work the deck or sit back and relax.
